Typist Group Issue

An issue was reported whereby if an administrator set a job to "Auto-claim Enabled" and then tried to change a typist group to "All", ScribeManager would not save the change.  This has been corrected.

Unrecognised domain

An issue was reported wherein ScribeManager did not recognise an email address and therefore would not permit it to be entered for a contact.  This happened because the contact in question had just changed their dns host and the new host had not yet propagated.  This issue will self-rectify once the new dns details propagate, which normally takes 24-48 hours.  In future cases, please contact ScribeManager support and request that they add the email address manually.

New Upload Tool integrated

A new upload tool has been integrated into ScribeManager and has gone live as of 9 AM Monday GMT.  This tool is the one used by Wordpress, and is expected to have a higher level of reliability for larger file uploads.

Uploaders may still use the YouSendIt feature or any other upload systems they already display on their upload page.

Download of Auto-Claim and Mayday Files

Following a request, it is now again possible to download Auto-claim and Mayday files before claiming them.  The previous concern on this subject has been removed by the new practice of ScribeManager emailing typists when they claim a file.  They need to be able to produce that email to prove they claimed a file.

Billing method alteration

Following requests from users, a "per page" method of billing and remuneration has been added to ScribeManager.  "Per word", which was barely being used, has been removed.  Users who wish to use "per word" should contact ScribeManager Support for details of workarounds.

File history

An amendment has been made to ScribeManager such that when a file is "unallocated", i.e. is allocated from a typist to no typist, this is recorded in the History.

Auto-claim Emails

A modification has been made to ScribeManager such that when a transcriptionist claims a file via Auto-claim or Mayday, an email is sent to them, and they are requested not to consider that they have definitively claimed the file until they receive that email.

This is to prevent transcriptionists from stating, for whatever reason, that they have claimed a file when in fact they have not.

Auto-claim Files on Jobs List Page

On the Jobs List page, files that are eligible for auto-claim are now shown with green backgrounds even if Mayday files are available.  This means that files may appear to the administrator as eligible for auto-claim but will not be seen on some typists' pages if Mayday files are visible there.

Firefox 4 alteration

Further layout changes have been made to the Job Edit page following the release of the new version of Firefox.  Functionality is not affected.

Auto-claim and Mayday Alteration

Download links on the typist page for Auto-claim and Mayday files are now disabled, and are only enabled after the file is claimed.  This has been implemented to prevent typists from transcribing files that they have not actually claimed.

File counting
